Our goals

SHORT-TERM GOALS

  1. Establishment of the Quality Management System.
  2. Establishment of the Bee Forest and Honey Meadow.
  3. Establishment of honey filling and packaging facilities and the installation of basic honeycomb production machines.

MID-TERM GOALS

  1. The local bee gene resources in Bingöl province will be identified using molecular techniques in cooperation with the Pilot University Coordination Center Unit and relevant institutions/organizations.
  2. Breeding studies for local gene resources will be initiated.
  3. Production of bee products other than honey (pollen, propolis, bee bread (perga), royal jelly, bee venom, and apilarnil) will be carried out.
  4. Training will be provided to producers on the application of modern methods in bee and queen bee breeding, ensuring efficient use of financial resources and labor.
  5. Trainings will be provided to increase honey yield.
  6. Academic staff will submit projects related to bees and bee products to TÜBİTAK and similar organizations.
  7. Coordinated work with units will be carried out to address issues related to bee pests and diseases. Natural control methods, new drugs, equipment, and technology will be developed to combat bee diseases and pests.

LONG-TERM GOALS

  1. After the completion of honeybee breeding studies, local gene resources will be protected.
  2. Relevant applications will be made to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the registration of local gene resources, ensuring their official registration.
  3. The use of queen bees produced from local gene resources will be widespread.
  4. Joint projects will be carried out with other universities' Beekeeping Research and Development Centers.
  5. Bingöl University Modern Beekeeping Complex will be turned into an apitourism area.
